Podcast Links

1)     Suggest a blog or video that offers a how-to guide to podcasting. What did you like about the blog or video?

I liked this blog because it gave a step by step process and gave detail on each step. I also liked the fact that they had videos on there to go to. This blog offered a dual perspective for podcasting how-to. I was able to understand better how podcasting works and I enjoyed the section on the history of podcasting.

2)     Suggest a free podcast hosting service. What did you like about the podcast hosting service?

I found this to be the easiest hosting service work with. There’s many different options available when creating your podcast. It is very simple to use, which is good for me because I have a hard time with things like this—any type of technology I am not familiar with. I know this is somewhat of a popular site; in case this was used already.

3)     What are some ways podcasts can be used in professional settings? Why/when would podcasting be the appropriate new media tool to communicate the information? Discuss ways podcasts can establish credibility in the workplace.

I think podcasts can be used in professional settings for product promotion, other offers through the company, information about the company, and how-to guides for the field of interest. If businesses used podcasting for these things it would be another way to network their business and give a wider range of people, the information. The business could potentially expand and by word of mouth the podcast itself would expand—chain effect.
